We are the local chapter of APICS, the Association of Operations Management: Advancing Productivity, Innovation, and Competitive Success. We serve Birmingham, Alabama and other communities in Central Alabama. APICS is the global leader and premier source
of the body of knowledge in operations management, including
production, inventory, supply chain, materials management,
purchasing, and logistics.

The Birmingham Chapter
of APICS is pleased to have entered into an alliance with the
University of Alabama Birmingham's Executive Education program
to provide both CPIM and CSCP courses leading to
certifications for each. This alliance means the APICS body of
Knowledge is merging with the resources and facilities of UAB
to give the business community in Central Alabama a greater
opportunity to benefit from operations management
certification programs in production and inventory control
(CPIM) and supply chain management (CSCP). To learn more about

Our Mission
The Birmingham Chapter's mission is to create affordable opportunities in resource management education, programs, and services for Birmingham area industry. We will respond to the changing needs of Birmingham companies and community. To accomplish this we shall provide:

management and manufacturing technology that will promote
personal growth and professional development.
- Career and professional programs that will prepare members with competencies to improve employment opportunities and promote lifelong learning.

Chapter Profile
Our chapter membership includes approximately 130 students and working professionals. Supply chain management affects all aspects of business and this is reflected in the diversity of our membership. Our members work in areas such as puchasing, production control, quality control, logistics, and information technology. We also have 44 members who have earned CPIM designation.
