Getting products from point A to point B

A lot goes into a package other than just the product itself. For many types of products, it takes weeks or even months to develop the proper packaging. Virtually every industry uses packaging of some sort. Packaging serves the following primary functions: Containment, Identity, Protection, & Utility. In some cases, promotion and/or preservation are key elements of the package. Several different types of protective packaging will be discussed, from corrugated containers (brown box), to specially designed steel shipping racks. Also, the packaging development process will be explored.
