Members having the CPIM AND CFPIM professional designations need to look to certification maintenance. Back in 1997 the APICS Board of Directors approved a certification maintenance program. Effective Jan 1, 1998 we have the challenge and opportunity of demonstrating ongoing development and commitment to life long learning in our professional endeavors. Every five years following initial certification, we maintain our certification status through a point system 75 points for CPIM and 100 points for CFPIM.
Some of the ways you can earn these points include: Being a Chapter Officer, being an active member, attending CPIM review classes, attending Region meetings, Teaching an APICS class, attending a local chapter meeting, passing a certification exam, and many others. Basically it means being involved in furthering your career and helping others in their career. Order the free certification maintenance bulletin from APICS under stock #09033 It is FREE!
